Jeff Gates, CFP®, MBA

As a Wealth Manager, Jeff is responsible for helping clients identify and achieve their financial goals by creating customized, comprehensive wealth management plans that fit their unique needs. Jeff collaborates closely with a client’s other trusted advisors (CPA, attorney, insurance agents) to make sure they are covered across all areas of their financial life. Jeff is devoted to helping families find fulfillment through financial peace of mind and values a collaborative approach, working with his Coldstream teammates to guide clients toward better financial decisions every day.

Before joining Coldstream, Jeff was a Lead Advisor and Chief Investment Officer at Cable Hill Partners for 9 years. In 2025, Cable Hill Partners merged with Coldstream thanks to the firms’ shared service culture and professional compatibility. Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree in business finance from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and his master’s degree in marketing & finance from San Francisco State University, Lam Family College of Business. Jeff Gates is a CFP^® practitioner.

HOBBIES

For many years Jeff coached youth and high school sports. Currently, Jeff is active in the Portland tennis community. Passions include music, fitness/health, reading, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
