Darren Ritchie, CFA®, CAIA®

Responsible for asset allocation, security selection, and periodic rebalancing of client portfolios, Darren brings an analytical bent and relentless curiosity to Coldstream. As a member of Coldstream’s Investment Strategies Group, he engages in macroeconomic research, determining strategic and tactical asset allocation targets, and manager sourcing and due diligence.  Darren is currently Chair of ISG’s Private Investments Committee.  Darren also co-manages Coldstream’s Tax Managed Strategies, designed to track various major equity indices while realizing taxable losses and deferring taxable gains.  Darren graduated from Pacific Lutheran University summa cum laude with degrees in Business Administration and Economics.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst® (CAIA) designations and is a member of CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Seattle, and the CAIA Association.

A Northwest native and Eastside resident, Darren spends most weekends hiking, mountaineering, skiing, or snowshoeing. His portfolio of eclectic hobbies also includes aviation, space, geology, Norwegian language, the history of the Titanic and other classic ocean liners, and the works of JRR Tolkien.  In the community, he serves as an Outside Advisor to the Museum of Flight’s Endowment Committee and is a longtime supporter of Washington Trails Association.
