Nick Buckley, CFA®

Nick Buckley is driven by a passion for helping people and figuring out how current events may affect capital markets. As an ISG Analyst, he works with Coldstream’s Investment Strategy Group to monitor portfolio construction and macro themes, source new managers, and conduct ongoing manager due diligence.

Nick joined Coldstream in 2024, bringing with him more than ten years of professional experience in the finance industry. Most recently, he served as a Research Analyst at Arnerich Massena, and prior to that, he worked as an Investment Analyst for Meketa Investment Group, as a Corporate Development Manager on the Strategic Partnership Team at Nike, and as a Valuations Associate for BDO USA LLP.

Nick Buckley earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Santa Clara University and is formerly a CPA. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst^® (CFA^®) designation.

THE MOST TREASURED THING I OWN

My GvFC rollerball pen. My grandfather, also a lefty, bought me my first fountain pen when I was 15, understanding the struggle of smudging, and I’ve been a pen enthusiast ever since. I also played a lot of sports growing up and noticed that there aren’t quite as many trophies doled out in the corporate world. After passing L2 of the CFA exam, I treated myself to this pen as something of a “trophy.”

ONE PIECE OF ADVICE

Our brains are wired to behave irrationally. As an investor, it is imperative to recognize blind spots in ourselves as well as others and remain disciplined.

HOBBIES

Outside of work, I enjoy listening to audiobooks, playing tennis and golf, following my favorite sports teams, live music, stand-up comedy, and spending time with my family.
