With a lifelong passion for helping those affected by traumatic life events, Brian joins Coldstream after 17 Years at Microsoft where he was successful at driving financial planning, business planning, product management, and strategy functions.  During his career he has managed billion-dollar businesses such as Office for Mac, Office 365 Enterprise, Windows Phone, and Windows Embedded and brought several new products to market including Office Mobile and Microsoft Work & Play.

While in college at the University of Washington, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, Brian worked for a major financial services advisor who focused on Special Needs Trust stewardship.  Brian had long hoped to get back into financial services in a second career and is thrilled to join Coldstream’s DAS (Disability Advisory Services) team.  His primary responsibilities include DAS business strategy and marketing efforts.

THE MOST TREASURED THING I OWN

Freedom to explore the world is such an important part of life; thus, my handcycle (think bicycle for people who are wheelchair bound) is my most treasured possession. I try to ride a couple hundred miles each summer.

ONE PIECE OF ADVICE

Being part of the Disability Advisory Services team, my focus is on supporting those who’ve had traumatic injuries. My one piece of advice to people going through this challenge in life is, “Simply to pace themselves, life can change in an instant but it can take years to regain lost momentum. Adding people to your circle that have come before you in a similarly situation is a great way to learn, find understanding and set new goals for your recovery.”

HOBBIES

In addition to my passion for helping those with disabilities, I can be found cheering for our Seattle Seahawks, doing photography, and participating in disability recreation sports.  I enjoy spending my free time mentoring those who have recently had traumatic injuries.
