On the links at Chambers Bay

Chambers BayThis week Relationship Managers Kevin Fitzwilson and Joe Cervantes attended a TD Ameritrade-sponsored event at the beautiful Chambers Bay Golf Club in Tacoma. The course, which will host the 2015 U.S. Open, was in spectacular shape, the weather cooperated, and a splendid time was had by all. The event enabled our team to meet with TD Ameritrade’s regional manager for client relationships, among others, and to network with peers from around the region.

Helping others . . . and teaching the next generation

MexicoIt was Spring Break in Mexico—but not how you might think (or see on TV). In April, Coldstream’s Chris Blakeslee led a group of 8 high school students on a mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico. They were part of a larger group of 65 kids. The group spent their week building and completing—from the ground up—a brand new house for a deserving homeless family.

Coldstream is excited to support “A Quest for Confidence Through Strength”

confidenceThat’s the motto of the Fight the Fear campaign, spearheaded by singer Brandi Carlile and her Looking Out Foundation.

Fight the Fear is a community-oriented violence prevention initiative which provides training in basic self-defense skills including awareness, de-escalation, boundary setting, assertive communication, and fighting technique as well as access to resources for survivors of violence or abuse. Qualified instructors teach free workshops, providing access to the skills and confidence that are a proven deterrent to violence. It’s an excellent tool for young women to learn life skills and build confidence.

The official kickoff for this nationwide campaign will be in Seattle on June 7th from 1 – 5 pm. The free workshop will be held downtown Seattle with Brandi and the Twins performing their music and with Tom Douglas providing the snacks. This is a free event, but limited to only 100 people. If interested please let us know.
