College Planning Event, 5.14.2012
This is a Coldstream hosted event, geared towards both young adults and parents who are interested in, preparing for, or just embarking on the college application process or beginning a new career. Since this transitional time of life brings up different areas of concern for both students and parents, there will be two separate sessions held, both covering the basic necessities of budgeting, banking & credit, and identity safety. The parents’ session will also go more in depth into insurance & estate planning, as well as navigating the university landscape, where the young adult session will focus on the importance of investing early and saving for retirement. After these info sessions, keynote speaker Dr. Jonathan Rossouw will speak about his personal experiences and lessons learned in a talk entitled, “Where Life May Lead You.” Dr. Rossouw is a medical doctor by profession but his lifelong passion for wildlife has led him to take up a full-time career in the expedition travel industry. He is currently a partner with Eco-Expeditions and has guided wildlife expeditions throughout the globe, traveling to 25 countries annually.
St. Patrick’s Day Dash, 03.17.2012
Thanks to Team Coldstream and everyone who braved the snow and cold to celebrate the arrival of spring by participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Dash Challenge! The Dash began 27 years ago as a race between bars and as a training event for an Irish Olympian. Now it’s Seattle’s largest single-distance run/walk, jog or crawl where the 13,000+ winners cross the finish before the last person starts. As a corporate sponsor, Coldstream was pleased to help support local charities such as the Detlef Schrempf Foundation, Seattle Children’s Autism Center, Camp Fire, Rise ‘n Shine, The Healing Center and much more. Every runner helped to give back to our community while promoting wellness and great fun. Log on to http://stpatsdash.com/ to see videos and pictures from this year’s race, and don’t forget to sign up to be part of this event next year!
