Cowboy at heart. In recent years, Detlef has pursued his love of riding the range on a friend's cattle ranch Though yet to learn the nuances of roping, he's become an old hand at wrestling calves.
Sweet sixteen. Detlef's storied seasons as a deft and driven NBA forward. A three-time All-Star, he played with the Mavs and Pacers before his six seasons with the Sonics – including the 1996 NBA Finals –and two with the Trailblazers.
Hearts of gold. Detlef and his wife Mari founded the Detlef Schrempf Foundation in 1995 to support Northwest children and their families. Since that time, they've helped raise more than $8 million for worthy efforts.
Best times. Are spent with Mari and their two teenaged sons.
Since well before his retirement from the NBA, Detlef has been actively involved in private equity investing both as a general partner and advisor. He joined Coldstream in 2007 to help us develop strategic relationships and build our business, one family at a time. He tells us what he enjoys most about his role here is the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life.

General Partner, Athlon Ventures. Detlef co-founded this private equity fund in 1999, and continues to serve on its board of advisors. Athlon Ventures invests in venture capital, real estate and other unique opportunities. He has been responsible for fund raising, deal flow, strategic partnerships and marketing.
Advisory Board Member, Pro Trust Growth Fund and SV Equity Growth Fund I. Detlef has been involved with this fund since 1996, actively investing in a diversified portfolio of private companies, including the manufacturing and hotel sectors, and real estate.
Assistant Coach, Seattle Sonics. Detlef's role during the 2006 and 2007 seasons included game preparation and coaching, scouting, and developing a database for concepts and plays.
Grassroots Program Director, Adidas. Detlef began working with Adidas in 1993. He launched the firm's global basketball grassroots program through the Adidas All-Star Camps, directing camps in Europe, Asia, South America and the U.S. He continues to help restructure and build new concepts and projects for the Grassroots program.
Studied International Business at the University of Washington on a full basketball scholarship.
In addition to his work with the Detlef Schrempf Foundation, Detlef serves on the advisory boards of several Pacific Northwest children's charities.
