Detlef Schrempf – 2011 Paul Allen Award Recipient

Please join us in congratulating Coldstream Partner, Detlef Schrempf, who is being honored this week at the 77th Annual Sports Star of the Year Awards. This event has celebrated the achievements and contribution of sports and athletes in Washington State for nearly eight decades.  Each year, the Paul Allen Award is given to recognize significant philanthropic contributions in our community and we are pleased to share with you that Detlef has been named the 2011 recipient of this unique award.

Detlef’s involvement in Washington State sports began while attending Centralia High School.  Following his time with the University of Washington, Detlef went on to a 16-year career in the NBA which included the Seattle Sonics as player and coach.   Detlef and his wife, Mari, have dedicated much of their time and efforts to giving back to our community primarily through the Detlef Schrempf Foundation (“DSF”). Over the last 18 years DSF has raised over $11 million to support organizations that provide hope, care and assistance to children and families of the Northwest.
